Step One Warming-up 1. Greetings. 2. Show the students the piece of Western music: The Blue Danube. Step Two Pre-reading 1. Free talk: T: Do you still remember this piece of music? Who’s it by? T: Yes, Johann Strauss the younger. There are two composers called Johann Strauss, Johann Strauss the younger and Johann Strauss the elder. Do you know their relationship? Let’s get to know more about them? 2. T: ok, we are going to learn our new lesson, Unit2 Vienna is the centre of European classical music. Lecture some new words: elder, young, composer, Vienna, European, classical… Step Three While-reading

1. Scanning Ask students to scan the passage. 2. Skimming Ask students to skim the passage and check the true sentences on the textbook. 3. Careful reading.
